Landscape: Divergent Views at Duke Gallery, Community Art Center in Wallingford, PA, March 15 – April 25, 2025.

I am exhibiting my video, Boiling Seas Acid Seas, in a landscape show at Duke Gallery, Community Art Center in Wallingford, PA. It was curated by plain-air painter, Margo Tassi, who writes, “I chose these 10 artists because, by steadfastly following their own paths, they have inspired me to go further along my own.”

The Royal West of England Academy 171 Annual Open Exhibition
14 September 2024 – 5 January 2025

My video, Boiling Seas Acid Seas, has been selected for exhibition in the RWA Annual Open in Bristol. I have been taking video footage of wetlands, watersheds and waves for several years, as part of my project about vulnerable wetlands and climate change. I have worked with my watery archive, using high-key un-naturalistic colours to conflate ideas of beauty and peril.

Residency at Willapa Bay AiR, Oysterville, Washington 2023

I was invited to Willapa Bay AiR in Oysterville, Washington for a September residency. I had the opportunity to explore unique wetland and ocean habitats on Long Beach Peninsula, a finger of land encircled by the Pacific Ocean to the west; the Columbia River to the South and Willapa Bay to the east.

California Wetlands Research at 18th Street Arts Center
Santa Monica, California, 2022

I began new wetlands research in Southern California, during a residency at 18th Street Art Center in Santa Monica. I extended my project on vulnerable wetlands and climate change, taking video footage of the Los Angeles River Corridor and of coastal wetlands overshadowed by freeways. I became interested in the discrepancy between visuals of water and simultaneously recorded audio, and what sound can reveal about the geographical context. My research was supported by a Developing Your Creative Practice Grant from Arts Council England.

a-n Artist Bursary 2022

I have been awarded an Artist Bursary from a-n The Artist Information Company, for the first stage of a collaborative project with sculptor Alexandra Harley, investigating coastal erosion and premature tree death in the North Solent.
